Quinceañera

Quinceañera

Quinceañera celebrations are a big tradition for many Latin people here in the USA. On my fifteenth birthday, my dad rented a limousine. My neighbours were watching and talking when it arrived. While we were driving to the party I saw two old friends, so we stopped and invited them. When we arrived, everybody was waiting for me.
The party was in a hall that my mother had rented two months before. My aunts had put flowers there in the morning and my mother had made a lot of food. The quinceañera meal started at one o’clock and, two hours later, we still hadn’t finished our food. Later, while we were dancing, my mother gave me a special present to show that I was an adult. It was a ring that my grandmother used to wear. I felt proud to be a part of this tradition

were watching, were driving, was waiting and were dancing:because describe actions that they are happening at the moment that other action interrups.
